<aside> đź’ˇ The purpose of this sequence is to get subscribers to click a link. Every email should give them an opportunity to click a link to receive a free resource of some kind and/or click a link just to confirm they want to stay on the list.

For this to work, you will need to have the resources available either as downloads or hosted somewhere as a webpage. For the links in these emails that say something like “If you don’t care about [free offer] but you do want to stay on the list, you can click this link and I’ll keep you on the list,” you will need a link to a generic “Thank You” page that confirms they are going to be kept on the list.

If a subscriber clicks any link in any of the emails, you will tag them to indicate that they have re-engaged, and that tag will be used to pull them out of the sequence.

Subject: [offer for a free resource]

Hi,

I’m going to be honest— it looks like it’s been a long time since you opened one of my emails.

I don’t want to clog up your inbox with content you don’t want. So, if you don’t act on one of my emails in the next couple of weeks, I’ll take that as a sign and unsubscribe you from my list.

But, before I do that, I want to let you know about [free offer].

[tell them more about the lead magnet/offer in a couple of paragraphs]

If that sounds good to you, just click the button below to [register/download or whatever the CTA should be].

[BIG CTA BUTTON]

If you’d rather unsubscribe, no problem. I’m sad to see you go, but you can click the unsubscribe button in the footer below.

If you don’t care about [free offer] but you do want to stay on the list, you can click this link and I’ll keep you on the list.

Hi,

A few days ago I sent you an email that sounded kind of like we might be breaking up.

I think you might not be reading these emails anymore, so in a few days I’m going to unsubscribe you from my list.
